Meet Dane

MK Dance Company, established by Dane McKiernan, is a space for Irish dancers to learn new choreography & techniques, while gaining access to the industry. Our mission is to help dancers reach their full potential by providing the training and knowledge it takes to be industry ready.

Dane, 38, started dancing in 1994. Initially taught by Moira Castles in hometown of Athboy, County Meath, later transferring to Ann Carney to compete within CLRG.

During the last 20 years Dane has performed with a variety of dance companies including ‘Riverdance’, ‘Rhythm of the Dance’, ‘Eireborne’, ‘Ériu’, 'Damhsa', 'Fusion Fighters', and 'New Eire Entertainment.'

  

Dane is an original member of modern Irish dance group ‘ProdiJIG’ and is most recently touring with ‘Irish Celtic.’

"I wanted to create a space where dancers can prepare for their journey between competitive Irish dance and becoming a professional performer. A place where professional dancers can continue their training and add to their own dance vocabulary. And moreover to hopefully connect dancers with opportunities."
